Darlene Mongeau, LPC

Psychotherapist
CT
Since 2009, I have worked as a Mental Health Counselor with adult clients. However, most of my experience has been with youth ages four through adulthood, which includes collaborating with their families and support systems (e.g., DCF, schools, counselors, etc.). I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Westfield State University and am skilled in therapeutic strategies such as CBT and certified in DBT. Much of my experience includes treating clients who have encountered traumatic experiences and providing grief therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Creating a healthy balanced lifestyle of work, social, and family structures to reduce stress and improve mood in a more positive direction for success has been a goal for many of my adult clients. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, teens, and their families. My younger clients who are being raised primarily by single parents, feel a sense of relief to take the burden of their emotional struggles from their parent by utilizing the therapeutic relationship as an effective processing resource. In addition, I possess strengths in collaborating with parent (s) to support them to better assist their child in feeling better from symptoms from their mental and behavior health diagnosis.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
