Darlene Stuber, LMHC

Psychotherapist
WA
Hi there, I'm Darlene! My name is Darlene Stuber, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master's in Counseling from Montana State University. I have great empathy for my clients, some humor, and lots of support. I am a good listener and have many tools to help. **My approach** I am eclectic in my focus, using a number of different theories. My primary approach is Cognitive Behavior Therapy, helping clients see their world in a more positive light. **My focus** I have treated people from ages 2 to 82, using different ways to connect with each stage of life. I have a great deal of experience with adolescents and families. I specialize in Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, ADHD, and communication, along with many other issues. **My communication style** I am very laid back, calm, and have a good sense of humor, so we laugh at times. My clients feel comfortable because I really listen to them and provide feedback, understanding, resources, and tools. **My journey to mental healthcare** I have always been involved in helping people-whether with my children, their friends, church, or social activities. I went to college later in life and had the opportunity to attend a human development class, which turned my interest toward mental health counseling. After 26 years, I continue to work because I love what I do. **My goals for you** I will ask you to identify three things that are very important to you and that may be causing pain. Together, we can develop ways to meet those goals. **My first session with you** I am very thorough, so the first appointment focuses on gathering your history. I will complete a genogram and ask questions about previous diagnoses, medications, and the issues that brought you to counseling.
