Getting to know Darryl Coleman

Hello, I earned my undergraduate degree in Human Services at York College of Pennsylvania in 2006 and my Master's in Social Work at Kean University in 2008. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor with 15 years of experience. I have worked in various settings-from outpatient to residential to in-home therapy. I have supported families, youth, and individuals, and I also have many years of experience helping those who struggle with addiction. My passion is to help young men and fathers become the best version of themselves. Sessions with me will leave you empowered and ready to tackle life's biggest hurdles. I work on developing the greatest version of yourself while continuing to process past wounds that may have been holding you back. I am here to support and build with you. Do not hesitate to take that first step-book a consultation, and let's get building together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

True Healing happens in safe spaces, but also spaces that move beyond our limiting beliefs. Creating a space where your values and identity are honored, is paramount. My trauma-informed approach allows you to reprocess past experiences that are impacting your present life to help grown beyond your limits. I believe that our childhood and upbringing informs our present but does not hold it prisoner and it is time to become the best version of yourself for you and your loved ones.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My speciality is Trauma Focused, I take an approach of about 8-10 sessions that focus on Compassionate Inquiry and Trauma Narrative to help heal how your past is impacting the present and move beyond your limits. We explore how the coping mechanisms you have developed to adapt with life circumstances have become barriers in your in your life now. Patients see a gradual lifting of symptoms but will continue to heal and develop new coping strategies as they continue sessions.
