Getting to know David Arcana

David is the owner and operator of Counseling Connections NWA. He is an Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) that works diligently to help clients uncover and make sense of damaging patterns often inherent in our lives. This is accomplished through examining, processing, and organizing these events so that we may become more aware of our present emotional experiences. David's specialty is working with couples in distress but enjoys working with individuals too. David began his career working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and is trained in trauma informed care. He has worked in a variety of settings including both inpatient and outpatient mental health, school based services, and private practice. He is a validating and compassionate therapist who believes that the most effective therapy is built through deeper awareness and understanding of the whole person. David is a veteran of the United States Navy. Prior to becoming a mental health counselor he enjoyed a career as an athletic trainer. He enjoys being outdoors, spending time with his family, and is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Arkansas.
