David Grant, LCSW

Psychotherapist
MO
Hello, I'm David, but many know me as Coach Grant. I graduated from Washington University with a Master of Science in Social Work, focusing on Social Entrepreneurship. Before becoming a therapist, I proudly served as a decorated Air Force combat veteran. During my service, I took on roles such as Integrated Avionics Systems Specialist, Equal Opportunity Specialist, Resilience Training Instructor, and Certified Department of Defense Sexual Assault Advocate. These experiences have deeply shaped my approach to therapy and my commitment to helping others. After my military service, I continued to dedicate my life to service by working as a subject matter expert for an Army command’s Suicide Prevention Program. In this role, I monitored and evaluated the effectiveness of various wellness training programs, including the Substance Abuse Program, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Program, Smoking Cessation Program, and Resiliency Program. As a therapist, I am passionate about promoting self-sufficiency and maximizing independence. I focus on helping clients develop skills that increase core competencies such as optimism, mental agility, self-regulation, self-awareness, self-efficacy, and connection. My approach is person-centered, aimed at helping you achieve your expressed goals. I work with you to identify and analyze diverse issues that impact your ability to function optimally and help implement solutions to resolve these problems. I provide direct psychosocial counseling to diverse populations with various substance abuse disorders and diagnosed mental illnesses. Together, we will collaborate to establish short-term and long-term treatment goals and interventions to aid in your overall success. Outside of therapy, I love running, coaching, and fostering character development through sports. These activities are not just hobbies; they are integral to my philosophy of resilience, performance improvement, and mindset development.
