Getting to know David Holt

My typical stance as a therapist is to be both direct and directive. I'm direct in the sense that I won't beat around the bush because I believe we can't solve a problem without talking about it openly. I'm more interested in resolving the root of your challenges than just addressing the symptoms. Being directive means I bring skills and tools to the table for you to explore and learn, so you leave each session with concrete strategies to practice between visits. I'm not the kind of therapist you'll need for the next 10 years. My goal is to help you learn what you need to regain stability and happiness as quickly as possible. While my approach is results-focused, I also understand the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance. It's not all business all the time-I'm light-hearted at times and find humor to be a valuable addition in the therapy room. I also seek to connect through empathy because life is tough, and I'll never minimize the struggles we each face. I hold a Master's degree in Art Therapy from Regis University, which informs my approach and enriches the tools I bring to our work together.
