David Lloyd, LCPC

David Lloyd, LCPC

Psychotherapist
4256 N Arlington Heights Rd, Ste 101, Arlington Heights, IL
David has worked within the practice since 1998. He specializes in individual, couples, and family counseling and has extensive experience leading both Co-Ed and Men's groups. David is a co-leader for our four Thursday night bi-weekly Co-Ed groups and has facilitated and co-led both Co-Ed and Men's weekend retreats for more than two decades. Virtually every client seeks support and victory over current struggles but also needs to understand root causes, seeking lasting change. With a balanced focus on current issues and a deep dive into the back story, we go for transformation—not just behavioral change. Working with both men and women, David has experience with trauma, loss, abuse, neglect, and dysfunctional families. Related to addiction, David embraces the belief that "addiction" encompasses far more than drugs, alcohol, food, or sex, and is best understood as anything that controls our lives to the detriment of personal growth. He emphasizes that history and research in addiction work point to two key elements in successful recovery—community and faith. An additional asset David brings is his 25 years of experience in the corporate arena. He has had a successful career in sales, marketing, merchandising, and management, bringing this executive experience to the practice. Mental health issues and addictions are prevalent in business, especially in leadership, which can be isolating and affect performance. David knows this world and has a special interest in reaching men and women trapped in these often secret and seemingly hopeless struggles. David holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grace College, a Bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University, and a Certificate in Addictions Counseling from the College of DuPage. He spent many years in individual and group therapy and attended numerous Co-Ed and Men's intensive therapy weekends, focusing on his own personal growth.
