What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in navigating and making sense of feelings and emotions that leave you saying "I just don't know". In every session, we will slow things down like an instant replay and work together to make sense of what happened and why you respond the way you do. Together we will sit in hard and difficult places but you won't be alone doing it. Navigating trauma or relationship challenges can feel overwhelming and isolating. Whether you're grappling with the aftermath of trauma or facing difficulties in your relationship, I understand the courage it takes to seek support.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Sessions will typically begin by gathering background information and understanding your current emotional struggles and relationship dynamics. The session often involves identifying and discussing specific negative patterns or unmet emotional needs that contribute to your distress. We will work together to explore and express core emotions in a safe and supportive manner, working to reframe these emotions in a constructive light. By the end of the session clients typically report feeling a sense of relief and clarity around the sources of their distress. For EMDR or trauma, sessions will typically begin by discussing your history and identifying specific traumatic memories or distressing experiences that need processing. I will help you navigate and focus on these memories while guiding you through sets of bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements. Throughout our sessions, I'll continue to support you through the experience as you integrate the emotions and insights that arise. Clients often report feeling some relief after a single session. The aim is to reduce the distress associated with distrustful memories. Additionally, I will provide strategies for grounding and self-care to manage any residual emotions or discomfort.
