I believe everyone seeking mental health assessments deserves accurate, detailed and insightful information about how their mind or the mind of a loved one works. I completed my assessment practicum trained at the University of Minnesota Pediatric Neurology Clinic (the Discovery Clinic) and completed my Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Fraser, two centers known for mental health assessment excellence. I have completed over 2,000 mental health evaluations in my career, and I provide extremely high-quality Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity, (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, (ASD), Learning Disability (LD), and other mental health assessments to my clients. I have a great deal of training and experience conducting high level mental health assessments and I would be happy to provide testing for you or a loved one. I use the best assessment tools in the field, including the WISC/WAIS, the ADOS, the MMPI, the Vineland, The DKEFs, etc., and other well-known and thoroughly researched products to complete my assessments, not online screeners or survey questions to determine specific information about each individual I see who is looking for a mental health assessment. My clients will receive specific test results and recommendations based on their concerns and the outcome of testing. Your test will be handwritten by me; I do not hand test results to an AI engine to write generic reports that currently miss significant details and elements in their analysis. I suspect that one day AI will write superior reports to the ones that I write, but not only does AI not offer data security, which is an automatic deal killer for me, its reports are not currently nearly as good as reports written by graduate students, much less reports written by seasoned mental health professionals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I create a friendly, supportive environment for clients and their families with the goal of making them feel at ease and confident. I have worked with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, including immigrants, non-English speakers, individuals who are extremely intelligent, individuals who have very low intellectual ability, children, teens, young adults, adults and seniors. I have worked with boys and girls, men and women, and individuals who are non-gender conforming. My goal is to make the experience easy, comfortable and useful to the clients and provide them with information to provide them better insight into themselves and to help them live more fulfilling, successful lives.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My assessment process typically involved 3-4 appointments. Initially, I have an intake appointment. This is one hour and can be conducted in person or via telehealth. For ASD appointments, I have a follow up appointment in which I complete the Vineland structured interview with a client or their primary care provider. This takes one hour and can be completed in person or virtually. Next, I have an assessment appointment. This is usually three hours long. This appointment must be completed in person. During this appointment, I complete a testing battery to obtain information about how the mind of my client works. Finally, I have a feedback appointment. This is one hour long and can be completed in person or via telehealth. During this appointment, I provide feedback based on the results of the testing appointment (or appointments, in the case of an ASD assessment). If the appointment is conducted in person, I provide the client or their primary care providers copies of the written report. These appointments are usually schedule one week apart.
