David Rothman, LPC

David Rothman, LPC

Psychotherapist
CO
I’m a therapist dedicated to helping individuals and couples heal the places where relationships feel stuck, tender, or overwhelming. For more than a decade, I’ve supported people through moments of relational disconnection, attachment wounds, and the challenges that arise from substance use and life transitions. My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), AEDP, and psychodynamic approaches, all of which honor the power of connection, emotional safety, and the inherent capacity we each have to heal. As a husband and father, I deeply value the meaning of closeness, vulnerability, and the work it sometimes takes to stay connected. These personal experiences shape my belief that relationships—whether with partners, children, or ourselves—are central to our well-being. I strive to bring warmth, steadiness, and genuine care into every session. In therapy, I help clients slow down, understand the deeper patterns shaping their emotions and behaviors, and create space for new ways of relating. Whether you’re navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, healing attachment injuries, or working through the emotional impact of substance use, I’m here to walk with you—not as an expert who has all the answers, but as a partner in your growth. My intention is to offer a welcoming, non-judgmental space where you feel seen, supported, and encouraged to explore what’s possible. Healing is relational, and you don’t have to do it alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a warm, steady, and collaborative space where your experiences and emotions are truly welcomed. My approach is grounded in attachment-focused work, combining EFT, AEDP, and psychodynamic therapy to help you understand the deeper patterns shaping how you relate—to others and to yourself. I move at a pace that feels safe for you. We’ll slow things down together so we can make sense of what’s happening underneath the surface: the longings, fears, and protective strategies that often guide our relationships. I’m not here to judge or to push you past your limits—I’m here to help you feel supported, understood, and less alone in what you’re carrying. As a therapist with over a decade of experience—and as a partner and parent myself—I know how important connection is. I also know how difficult it can feel when relationships aren’t working the way we want them to. I approach our work with empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for your courage in seeking support. Whether you’re coming in individually or as a couple, my goal is to help you create more clarity, emotional safety, and meaningful change. You don’t have to show up a certain way or have everything figured out. Just come as you are. We’ll work together from there.
