Getting to know David Ward

David is a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and has been working in the psychology field since 1996. He has over 20 years of experience treating clients. There is a zen saying: when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. You are ready to start to heal. Using a short-term brief reality therapy model influenced by Motivational Interviewing (MI), Core Focus Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), with a high emphasis on client choice, David helps clients focus on opportunities and growth. With multiple years of experience in treating mental health, opiate addiction, and alcohol dependence, he hopes to offer a genuine understanding of the changes a client experiences on their path to healing. David received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Westminster College and a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. Additionally, David was a Behavioral Health Specialist with Aetna health insurance and helped to design and integrate several of their behavioral health outreach programs.
