My name is Deana Luciano, PhD, LCMHC, LCAS, MCAP, NCC, and I serve as the Director of Substance Use Programs at Advaita Health in Raleigh, North Carolina. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a PhD in Counseling Education and Supervision from Walden University.
I specialize in working with adults and teenagers struggling with substance use disorders, helping them move toward recovery with structure, accountability, and compassion. I also treat anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and relationship difficulties, and I work with couples who want to strengthen connection and rebuild trust.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing. I draw from these models thoughtfully and tailor treatment to each individual’s needs. I believe therapy works best as a partnership. My role is to create a safe, supportive environment while also providing practical tools and honest feedback.
Many of the individuals I work with are navigating life stressors or past trauma that continue to affect their present relationships, work, and sense of self. They want more than symptom relief—they want meaningful change. Together, we focus on building coping skills, strengthening self-awareness, improving relationships, and creating healthier patterns.
