Debbi D Allred, CMHC I am a clinical mental health counselor, currently practicing and licensed in the state of Utah. I have completed an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Psychology from Truman State University and a graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I have completed the Level 1 Internal Family Systems training, through the Institute of Internal Family Systems. I have been practicing professionally for over 5 years. I primarily practice using the Internal Family Systems or IFS model. However, in suiting client needs, I am flexible and competent in integrating other modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Existential Therapy, Gestalt, Person Centered Counseling, as well as Mindfulness based interventions, such as Emotional Freedom Technique. I have experience working with substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have helped many individuals move from extreme suicidality and significant life distress to living happy and well adjusted lives. My professional mission and aspiration, is that each client has a therapeutic experience that is respectful, effective, and individualized to their personal mental health needs, desires, and life goals. My intention for every client is that life becomes satisfying, self- directed, and energized, according to the individul's personal aspirations in the area of mental health. It is my personal and professional belief that every human being has the core essence or blueprint for living a life of joy and mastery, despite the inevitable challenges. A basic tenet of my professional philosophy is that the client is the expert in their own life's journey, my approach is collaborative; I am a guide and not the expert. I offer my professional specialization and skills in mental health counseling, to support and encourage each client's personal growth.
