Getting to know Debbi Little

Hi, I'm Debbi! My name is Debbi Little, and I am a Licensed Clinical Therapist (LCSW) serving clients via telehealth in the state of Illinois. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Southern Illinois University and have over 20 years of experience working with a diverse population. I specialize in the effects of trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as helping clients adjust to major life events and stressors. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy tailored to each individual to assist them in reaching their therapeutic goals. My approach I believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect and compassion. Although Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the modality I use most frequently, I also recognize that everyone is unique. Together, we will find the approach or approaches that work best for you. My focus My approach works well with most individuals, especially survivors of trauma and those experiencing major life transitions such as college, job changes, divorce, the death of a loved one, or retirement. Like trauma, these transitions can lead to symptoms of depression, anxiety, self-doubt, and issues of self-worth. Together, we can improve your life situation and outlook. My communication style My communication style is encouraging, non-judgmental, open, and honest. Many clients have told me that my ability to make them comfortable sharing the details of their lives is one of my best attributes as a therapist. My journey to therapy I initially decided to become a therapist to help children suffering from trauma, but my focus soon expanded to helping adults with unresolved childhood trauma and anyone seeking to improve their mental health and life situation. I truly enjoy helping others learn, grow, and heal. My goals for you I believe in client-directed therapy, meaning you tell me what you want to achieve, and I will help you get there.
