Getting to know Debbie Johnson

Hello there, I'm Debbie! I'm excited to get to know you as we start your therapy process together. My ideal client is an adult between the ages of 21-99 who is motivated to do the work needed to meet their goals. My therapeutic approach begins by offering clients a safe place to process the difficulties and stressors in their personal and professional lives and to assist them with finding their own solutions. I am dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve emotional well-being and balance through a non-judgmental, person-centered therapeutic approach. My specialties include working with clients living with depression, anxiety, and grief as well as families and care partners caring for a loved one living with dementia. I am also a facilitator for Prepare/Enrich, an evidence-based assessment tool that helps couples gain insight into the dynamics of their relationship by identifying areas of strength as well as areas of potential growth. I have a passion for offering support to clients who have experienced trauma and am in the process of becoming a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. A little more about me, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public and Social Services in 1995 from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia. I subsequently earned a Master of Education in Professional Counseling from Augusta State University in Augusta, Georgia, in 2005, and have been professionally licensed in Georgia since 2009.
