Hi there, I'm Deborah!
I am a laid-back therapist who may use new but proven techniques. I provide handouts and outside resources to help you understand and apply these methods. You’ll have many tools to choose from based on your preference and diagnosis.
My approach
I prioritize your needs and see us as a team working together to help you become the person you want to be. I often ask clients how they envision their future. My main modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eclectic, Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family/Marital, Interpersonal, Mindfulness, Trauma Therapy, and Couples therapy.
My focus
I work with those motivated for treatment who believe they can improve and want a more fulfilling life.
My communication style
I use a direct style and share many resources, videos, and handouts. Clients often describe me as caring, passionate, and knowledgeable.
My journey to therapy
From age 4, I was drawn to therapy, reading encyclopedias to understand what makes people tick. I realized many around me faced challenges, and I wanted to help them understand themselves and know that everyone has problems—and there are ways to feel better. With over 40 years of experience, I’ve learned many approaches and techniques. While highly trained, what matters most is whether clients feel better by the end of treatment.
Education
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Portland State University.
