I am a registered, board certified and licensed Creative Arts Therapist and a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse counselor. I had worked at Behavioral Health hospitals for over twenty years before I built my private practice where I enjoy the freedom this provides me to focus on individual treatment and to witness the growth and change of my clients in therapy.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Along with traditional forms of talk therapy,
I endorse using journaling, art making, meditation and mindfulness training to promote creative self expression and to help you explore the contents of your unconscious mind to help you get 'unstuck', and move forward in your healing process.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
In addition to Creative Arts Therapy, I use various evidence based forms of psychotherapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Tapping, and Mindfulness training to provide you with tools you can use in your daily life to manage symptoms of "unwellness". I use a Humanistic approach to provide support and encouragement to help you identify your strengths and challenges, explore coping skills, and find hope and meaning in life.
