I am a psychotherapist in private practice in Philadelphia with over twenty-five years' experience. I have extensive training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy specifically, because it is the most comprehensive in its application and integral to all psychotherapies that conceptualize psychic structure and development, utilizing foundations drawn from psychodynamic theory. I have treated adults and adolescents in both brief and long-term psychotherapy and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I worked for a number of years in both the private and public sectors, gaining wide experience in different clinical settings. It was through the dawning of a strong psychoanalytic influence that I gained specific focus in my professional development, with additional postgraduate training leading to certifications in analytic group psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. I am a recent past professor (unranked) of twelve years at Drexel University, teaching psychodynamic theory, psychotherapeutic technique, assessment, and psychodynamic group process. In addition to my private practice, I continue to be actively involved in long-standing professional psychoanalytic groups. As an immigrant, I take a particular interest in people dealing with cultural difficulties, whether displaced by choice or necessity.
