What should a new client know about working with you?

My philosophy is to work collaboratively with my clients. I use a strengths-based, competency-based focus which is informed by a wellness perspective. This perspective empowers clients to find their inner coping abilities and their inner resilience. Working within this humanistic frame, I utilize a therapeutic approach combining solution-focused, systems theory and CBT with my clients. Clients will leave sessions feeling empowered and supported in their journey towards their therapeutic goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When meeting with a new client, we work towards talking about the purpose and goals for therapy. I often will discuss out of session change with a client which can include recommended tasks out of session as well as just taking note of changes that occurred between sessions. From there our sessions are focused on the client's goals and a discussion of what strengths and past solutions have helped the client to make changes. These sessions are about you and we will work together to best meet your needs.
