Getting to know Deirdre Bernaz

Hello and welcome to therapy! I'm a trauma-informed, behavioral health professional with years of expertise treating both mental health and addiction disorders. I'm dually licensed in New Jersey as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LCADC). I received my MSW from Rutgers University and have experience working in various settings, including inpatient & outpatient treatment, recently developing programs as Clinical Director for a new PHP, IOP, & OP substance abuse treatment agency. I'm committed to providing client centered care using evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, MI, Mindfulness, ERP, for treating various mental health and/or addiction disorders. I'm passionate about helping others recognize their strengths for achieving their goals. Collaboratively we will work to help you create life-balance.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Upon your initial visit, I will work to get to know all about you and what brings you to therapy. We will explore your strengths, history, completing a biopsychosocial assessment followed by establishing your goals for treatment trajectory.
