Are you struggling to imagine a future in which things are even somewhat positive? It can sometimes feel impossible to stay optimistic or develop optimism. Our society has undergone a lot of fundamental changes in the past several years. This includes political wars, economic instability, climate change, and technological advances- to name a few. There is a high level of uncertainty due to a combination of these factors. People are experiencing new challenges they probably never thought they would have to face. As uncomfortable and uncertain as the path ahead may seem, pushing ourselves to believe in a positive future is crucial in maintaining and/ or enhancing our mental well-being. So how can we develop optimism, achieve high levels of well-being, have fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression ? I'm glad you asked! We must develop hope. To truly have hope in any situation, you need to believe that the unfolding events of your life are part of a larger plan that will eventually lead you to a positive outcome. Trust the process! I am a licensed clinician in Georgia and have been practicing Social Work for 17 years. I have worked in several different settings including inpatient and outpatient therapy, employee assistance, private practice and emergency room services. When providing therapy, I utilize an holistic approach, combining a range of techniques to include CBT, Solution- Focused therapy, Eclectic, Existential therapy, and Polyvagal Informed therapy . I am here to support you on your journey. With time and intentionality we can focus all our energies on aspirations and expectations for a positive future.
