Getting to know Delsa Johnson-Waddell

Hi, my name is Delsa, or you can call me Dr. Waddell if you prefer. I have been working in the mental health field since 2001 and have been a therapist since 2008. I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern State University Broken Arrow. Since moving to Utah in 2017, I have worked as a CMHC here. I work with a variety of issues and have specialized in trauma treatment. I work with people who have diverse values and belief systems, and I believe all people should be given the right to be who they are without judgment from themselves or others.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe therapy only works if we work together. I am the expert on techniques and you are the expert on you. As we work together with trust and honesty, you will move consistenty toward your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I do my best to provide an open and accepting environment free from judgment or expectations. As you look forward to what you want your life to be, I will give you the tools to get there (including ways to let go of the past so you can move forward).
