What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a resiliency-informed, Christian cognitive behavioral therapist (CCBT) and motivational interviewer. I also provide premarital and marital counseling. My approach to therapy is collaborative and strengths-based. I believe that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, and I am committed to helping my clients achieve their goals. Here is what you can expect when working with me: A safe and supportive space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. A non-judgmental approach that is respectful of your values and beliefs. A focus on building your strengths and resilience. Help in developing healthy coping skills and strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and depression. Support in making positive changes in your life and relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I'm here to listen to you and learn more about your presenting problem, biggest concerns, issues, and challenges. We'll also talk about your expectations for therapy, assess your readiness, and set up a frequency for our sessions. I create a safe space for you to show up authentically and I provide tools to work on in and after the session. Let's start by hearing from you. What brings you here today? What is your biggest concern or issue? What challenges are you facing? Once I have a better understanding of your situation, we can talk about your expectations for therapy. What do you hope to achieve by working with me? What kind of support are you looking for? We'll also assess your readiness for therapy. This means considering your motivation for change, your willingness to do the work, and your overall support system. Finally, we'll set up a frequency for our sessions. This will depend on your needs and goals, as well as my availability. I want to emphasize that I create a safe space for you to show up authentically. This means that you can be yourself, without judgment or fear of reprisal. I also want to assure you that I am here to support you on your journey to healing and growth. In each session, I will provide tools and strategies to help you work on your goals.
