My dedication lies in consistently helping my clients find balance in all aspects of life. With over 8 years of experience and a postdoctoral background in psychology, I help clients connect their thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. Are you feeling anxious, depressed, irritable, tearful, or experiencing consistent negative or irrational thoughts? Panic attacks? These may be symptoms of underlying core issues that have not been addressed. Many adults and children experience events that can have life-long consequences. Past experiences could include childhood trauma or addiction within the family—areas in which I specialize.
I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Pepperdine University and have completed advanced training in counseling psychology at Arizona State University’s Tempe campus. Additionally, I studied Women’s Health and Internal Medicine at Columbia College, which enriches my understanding of the complex interplay between physical and mental health.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My approach is rooted in cultural sensitivity, acknowledging the diverse experiences that bring individuals to therapy. Combining evidence-based techniques with an understanding of your unique cultural background, I will address challenges with u to build resilience, and foster personal growth. I specialize in trauma focused therapy, cbt and dbt.
Together we work as a team to create the best treatment plan that is specific to your needs. I challenge you along the way so that you learn effective coping skills that can be applied to everyday situations. The goal is always for you to gain insight into bothersome areas of life. bring positive energy, a nonjudgmental approach, and an open mind.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Initial Session:
Intake Interview: This involves gathering detailed information about your background, current issues, and goals for therapy.
Goal Setting: Together, you will set specific, achievable goals for your therapy sessions.
Ongoing Sessions:
Therapeutic Techniques: Depending on the client's needs an approach, sessions might include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, or other therapeutic techniques.
Progress Review: Regularly reviewing your progress towards your goals and adjusting the treatment plan as necessary.
