Congratulations! Taking the first step on any journey can be scary. In moments like this, it can be quite comforting knowing that you will not have to make the journey alone. I am here to help! I am passionate about being a guide for individuals as they navigate life's transitions, experience anxiety, depression, or grief that may seem unbearable at times. I use a person-centered, collaborative approach to care, wherein together we will identify your needs and goals for the therapeutic process. When you are ready to take the next step, know that I will be here waiting to help! My approach I use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help individuals identify and modify unhelpful thought patterns that can cause intensely unpleasant emotions and challenging behaviors. To aid you in achieving your goals, we may learn new skills/practices, such as meditation, deep breathing, and progressive muscle relaxation exercises. Together, we will help you develop the tools to successfully navigate life's transitions. My focus Many individuals experience anxiety and self-doubt, which can be overwhelming. I can assist you in learning techniques that will help you manage these feelings. Often, simply talking about it can make a significant difference. I am ready to listen! My communication style I emphasize open and transparent communication to foster a supportive, nonjudgmental atmosphere. I engage in active, empathetic listening and provide opportunities for you to reflect on your personal experiences. My goal is to be a mirror -- to reflect what I see and hear so that we can identify necessary cognitive and behavioral changes. My journey to mental healthcare My journey into therapy began through my own testament of human strength and resiliency. I am living proof that having the courage to ask for help can save your life! Personally, I was introduced to therapy more than 25 years ago through a crisis intervention.
