I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Professional School Counselor with over 20 years of combined experience working with young children, adolescents, and young adults. I can partner with you to assist you, your child, and your family in navigating the challenges and life stressors that come with life experiences, environmental and family changes, and trauma. I also enjoy working with young adults to assist them to navigate their place in the world, process difficult decisions, and make positive life choices. As a counselor, I use a Person-Centered approach and commonly include principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Expressive Arts, and Solution Focused techniques in order to meet my client’s needs throughout the therapeutic process. The primary goal is to foster a safe and non judgemental space in which one can thrive and become the best version of themselves with the highest quality of care. My theory of counseling is that every one of us possess the ability to choose how to resolve our own problems and are able to make positive life decisions. I also believe that self-awareness and choices are key to developing self-direction and independence. My role in the counselor/client relationship is to assist in the areas of personal growth. As a counselor, I hope to assist you in the process of gaining greater self-awareness through life experiences that lead to increased confidence, self-esteem, independence, mental health, and the capacity to effectively navigate the complex challenges of life.
