Are you struggling with difficult emotions, unhealthy coping skills, and feeling overwhelmed with the task of getting through the day? I will provide you with guidance in discovering why the uncomfortable feelings happen, healing from past hurts, and developing healthy coping skills to assist with managing these feelings. I will help you find hope. My focus I work with young, middle-aged, and older adults who find it difficult to manage difficult and uncomfortable emotions, navigate life changes, role changes, loss, and unhealed past trauma. We will develop coping skills in areas of concern and emotional regulation, develop self-worth, self-awareness, and healing. My approach I use dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) to help you manage difficult emotions and reshape your harmful thinking. My approach is straightforward and collaborative, giving you tools to feel more in control. I may also incorporate mindfulness and distress tolerance to support your progress. My communication style I prioritize clear and straightforward communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I practice active listening and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences with me as an empathetic partner. You can expect me to be calm and patient and to enjoy a joke with you now and then. My journey to mental healthcare My therapy journey began with a desire to help others find strength and hope through life’s challenges. Working with hundreds of clients over the course of my career has shown me the power of therapy in healing. I’m driven by the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth, healing, and lasting change. My goals for you I see therapy as a partnership, a team effort. Together, we’ll set goals that matter to you. As you gain new insights, we’ll adapt your plan to stay on course as you move toward where you want to be.
