What should a new client know about working with you?

Together we will discover root causes of your symptoms and / or discover behaviors, thoughts, and attitudes that may cause difficulties in your life, and we’ll collaborate to replace them with behaviors, thoughts, and attitudes that bring about and maintain happiness. My formal education is in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which is a very effective method, but it is not right for every client and I am experienced with other methods to meet your needs. I’m confident you’ll find that I am a caring, empathic, and effective therapist. I work with clients age 12 and above.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As we work together, you can expect therapy to feel thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply attuned to who you are—both in the present and in the parts of you formed long ago. I am trained and educated in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which often includes exploring the “inner child” and the emotional templates that shape how you experience relationships, stress, and self-worth today. Our work will move at a pace that feels safe and grounded, blending insight-oriented exploration with practical tools you can use right away. While psychodynamic psychotherapy is the foundation of my approach, I integrate techniques from CBT, Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered, Positive Psychology, Strength-Based, Eclectic, and Transpersonal modalities when they’re helpful. This allows us to shift fluidly between understanding why patterns developed and learning how to change them. Clients often tell me they appreciate the balance of depth and practicality—sessions where they feel heard, understood, and gently challenged, while also gaining new strategies for managing anxiety, mood, relationships, or life transitions. Ultimately, my goal is to help you make lasting changes by strengthening self-awareness, reconnecting with your inner resilience, and creating more space for fulfillment, emotional clarity, and ease in your everyday life.
