Getting to know Derek Stegner

I DO NOT DO ANY MEDICATION MANAGEMENT. I have many years of experience working with early childhood trauma and severe, persistent mental illness, serving individuals from ages 5 to 70+. My goal is to empower and advocate for positive change within you as an individual and within the system as a whole. Together, we will create a safe and judgment-free space. I work from an Existential foundation to help those I serve seek meaning and purpose. My skills are built from experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, all within a trauma-informed approach. My passion is sharing my knowledge of mental health and skills that can help overcome past trauma, current stressors, and barriers related to mental health struggles. What matters most to me is building a strong therapeutic relationship based on authenticity, respect, and trust to facilitate positive change that meets each individual’s personal goals. Derek is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) with degrees from Northern Kentucky University, including a Bachelor’s in Psychology and Philosophy, a Master’s in School Counseling, and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
