What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is client-centered, meaning you are at the heart of our work. I believe in creating a partnership where your voice is heard, and your goals guide our sessions. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a way that feels safe and empowering. You can expect a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment. I’m here to listen without bias and to help you navigate your challenges with understanding and care. My goal is to provide a space where you feel comfortable being your authentic self. I draw on a variety of evidence-based practices, including CBT, ACT, Tapping, and Mindfulness practices to tailor our sessions to your unique needs. Whatever brings you to therapy, we’ll use approaches that work best for you. In our sessions, I am actively engaged and encourage you to be as well. I often ask questions, offer reflections, and may suggest exercises or techniques to practice outside of sessions. This active approach helps us address issues more effectively and promotes real, lasting change, and growth. I understand that each person’s journey is different, so I am flexible and adaptive in my approach. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, adjusting our focus as needed to address what’s most pressing in your life. Ultimately, my goal is to help you build resilience, gain insights, and develop the tools you need to navigate life’s challenges more effectively. I believe in your capacity for growth and am here to support and guide you every step of the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Before our session begins, you’ll receive a secure link to join our virtual meeting. You can connect from a private, comfortable space where you feel at ease to talk openly. It’s important to ensure you have a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. We’ll start by checking in on how you’re feeling and discussing any immediate concerns or developments since our last session. Sessions typically involve discussing your thoughts and emotions, interactions with loved ones or colleagues, exploring past experiences, or working on coping strategies and skills. I’ll guide the conversation, but you’re encouraged to bring up any topics that feel relevant or pressing. I go with your flow. We will practice skill-building techniques by way of discussions, role plays, or homework. We will also experiment with treatment modalities such as tapping or mindfulness practices like meditations or deep breathing exercises. We may also use tools like shared documents, online resources, or apps that complement our work. I might share links, exercises, or worksheets during or after the session to support your progress. As we wrap up, we’ll review any key takeaways and discuss what to focus on between sessions. After our session, I might send follow-up materials or suggestions for activities to work on before our next meeting. This helps reinforce what we’ve discussed and keeps you engaged in your progress.
