Getting to know Destiny Frye Pineda

Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Texas. I received my Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University and have been practicing social work at the Master’s level for the past 7 years. I help adults experiencing difficulties with depression, anxiety, anger, self-esteem, life transitions, aging, grief, and interpersonal challenges gain a deeper level of awareness within themselves while increasing coping skills and reducing stress.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have worked with individuals from many different backgrounds; however, my specialties include both young and older adults. I pride myself in meeting my clients where they are at in their lives. I believe that my clients are the experts in their lives and flourish when they are given non-judgmental support and encouragement from their therapist. My clients are ready for change, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. I am here to assist you in developing the skills to not only achieve your current goals, but to develop the confidence to manage future difficulties you may encounter.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session together, II will ask questions about your presenting concerns, as well as your history and background. Most likely, you’ll find yourself talking about your current symptoms or struggles, as well saying a bit about your relationships, your interests, your strengths, and your goals. Most importantly, you should feel safe, accepted, respected, and relatively comfortable. This will help us to create a tailored plan to work through in follow-up sessions.
