Getting to know Destiny Thompson

My name is Destiny Thompson, and as a Resident in Counseling, I work with a variety of age groups to help you become the best version of yourself. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental, and inclusive space where you can explore what’s holding you back—whether it’s self-doubt, feeling overwhelmed, unresolved life issues, depression, or anxiety. I mainly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize and shift unhelpful thought patterns, but I also draw from person-centered, mindfulness-based, and trauma-informed approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. My goal is to create a supportive, empowering space where healing and growth can take place. I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Education from Longwood University and have experience working with clients across different ages and life stages. I offer services exclusively through telehealth to provide accessible and convenient care. I am currently practicing under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), receiving weekly individual and group supervision to ensure quality and growth in my clinical skills. Outside of therapy, I enjoy journaling, reading, and spending time in nature, especially at the beaches in Delaware. These practices help me stay grounded.
