Getting to know Devon Raap

Hello! My name is Devon Raap, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)/Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 20 years of experience providing counseling services to children, adults, and families in school settings as a school social worker, in the home, and in agency settings. I feel that my life experiences growing up with a brother with Autism, being a mother of 3 children, co-parenting, being a mother of a child with ADHD, and navigating the stress of working in education brings a real and authentic counseling approach to my clients. Areas that I have had significant experience in my career thus far include trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, adjustment in clients of all ages, parenting stress and strategies, educator burn out prevention and support, and caregiver support. In addition, I completed a Sport Social Work Certification in 2022 at the University of Michigan in order to support the unique mental health needs of athletes and coaches as they engage in sport or process the grief of no longer engaging in their beloved sport due to injury or end of career. I value the importance of highlighting and exploring the unique strengths and resilience in each individual to help encourage hope, confidence, healing, and growth.
