Getting to know Devon Roach

*PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO NOT ACCEPT BCBS COMPLETE INSURANCE* If you're struggling with trauma, addiction, anxiety, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, therapy can help you understand not only what you're experiencing, but why it keeps happening. I specialize in working with adults recovering from substance use disorders, complex trauma (CPTSD), childhood emotional wounds, anxiety, depression, and the lasting effects of difficult relationships. Many of my clients have spent years feeling disconnected from themselves, constantly on edge, or repeating unhealthy patterns despite wanting something different. Together, we work to understand those patterns and create lasting change. My approach is active, collaborative, and individualized. I don't believe therapy should consist of simply talking about problems week after week. Instead, I help clients develop practical skills while exploring the deeper experiences that shaped how they cope, relate to others, and see themselves. My work integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and somatic techniques. Whether your goals include maintaining recovery, healing from trauma, improving relationships, managing anxiety, or rebuilding self-worth, treatment is tailored to your specific needs. Healing is rarely about becoming someone different—it's about reconnecting with the parts of yourself that have been buried beneath survival. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can process your experiences, develop healthier ways of coping, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you've had difficult experiences with therapy in the past or you're unsure where to start. My goal is to make the process approachable, collaborative, and focused on meaningful change. One thing many clients notice quickly is that I'm an active therapist. I'll listen carefully, but I'll also ask thoughtful questions, offer feedback, teach practical skills, and help connect patterns that may not be obvious. Therapy with me is a conversation—not just a place to vent, but a place to better understand yourself and develop new ways of responding to life's challenges. Many of my clients are working through complex trauma, addiction recovery, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or the long-term effects of childhood experiences. We move at a pace that feels safe while still challenging the patterns that keep you stuck. I believe that every person's story is unique, so treatment is never one-size-fits-all. Together we'll develop goals, monitor progress, and adjust our work as your needs evolve. Virtual appointments and online scheduling make it easier to access care that fits your schedule, allowing you to prioritize your mental health without unnecessary barriers.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with getting a clear understanding of what brings you to therapy, what you've experienced, and what you hope will be different in your life. During our first few sessions, we'll explore your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and the patterns that may be contributing to your struggles. From there, we'll develop a treatment plan based on your individual goals. Whether you're working through trauma, navigating recovery from substance use, managing anxiety or depression, or improving relationships, therapy is tailored to your unique needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. I take an active and collaborative role in therapy. Along with providing a supportive space to process difficult experiences, I'll offer feedback, teach practical coping skills, help you recognize unhelpful patterns, and challenge beliefs that may be keeping you stuck. My approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and somatic techniques when appropriate. As therapy progresses, we'll regularly review your goals, celebrate progress, and adjust our approach as your needs evolve. My goal is to help you develop lasting insight, healthier coping strategies, and greater confidence so that you can continue moving forward long after therapy has ended.

Devon is a easy person to talk too. Almost like speaking to a friends who understands what you are going through. I look forward to speaking with him, since I feel like he understands me and helps me get through whatever issue I am struggling with.
