"It's okay to not be okay!" We have all found ourselves in situations where we feel fearful, angry, hurt, worried, resentful, and much more. Experiencing emotions is a natural part of life that many of us forget to acknowledge. We often hear statements like "it'll be okay," "I understand how you feel," or even "get over it." Overhearing these statements can make a client feel more alone than before and eventually cause them to shut down. With me, you will embark on a self-exploration journey of healing. We will not only acknowledge these feelings, but we will also learn how to manage them. I am a licensed social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from Illinois State University, committed to holistic healing for my clients. I have a background in providing therapy to individuals and families, crisis intervention, school counseling, and case management services. By utilizing evidence-based approaches, my aim is to create a safe, empathetic, nonjudgmental environment that is conducive for all clients. Healing is a non-linear process. There will be good days as well as days when you're not feeling your best. Your healing journey will be tailored to meet your needs in a client-centered way. Together, we will work towards building self-esteem, reducing anxiety, strengthening coping mechanisms, and improving social and community functioning.
