Getting to know Dezerae Daniels

Hello, I'm Dezerae. Recognizing and asking for help is a sign of strength, and I'm thrilled to support you in this process. I am currently accepting new clients, ages 12 and older, and am available virtually or in person at my office. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) living in the Colorado Springs area, I bring over 13 years of experience as an educator and counselor in the secondary school setting. In 2021, I decided to extend my support to the broader community. Since then, I've had the privilege of counseling individuals, couples, and families ranging from ages 12 to 90 in a private practice setting. My focus is on creating a compassionate and supportive environment as a client-centered therapist, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am a Gottman Method Level 1 certified counselor through The Gottman Institute, which I incorporate into my work with couples and marriage therapy. Additionally, I am a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist through Evergreen Certifications and enjoy supporting clients with Autism. My specialties include antisocial behavior, anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum support, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, depression, developmental disabilities, family relationships, gender identity, multicultural/diversity issues, intimate/romantic relationships, sex/intimacy issues, learning disorders, spirituality, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, life transitions, and LGBTQIA+ support. Let's work together to make changes to those unwanted behaviors and replace them with ones that are more fulfilling to your life. In my personal life, I am passionate about the environment, caring for my family, and continuing my education to learn best practices in counseling. I also enjoy reading, gardening, and hiking with my two dogs.

The services I get are great bu the way I pay for them is a pain. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and the way it works is BCBS mails me a check to help cover the cost of services. I know that this may be out of your control but it is very annoying to have to cash a check, wait for the funds, and then receive a bill for services I received 5 months ago. It makes it very hard to keep track of what costs what.
