Getting to know Diamond Greene

I have 7 years of clinical experience in working with individuals, couples, and families. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Maryland, College Park. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Family Science with a minor in Human Development. I continued my journey at UMD and pursued a Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy. While obtaining my master’s degree, I worked as an intern at the Center for Healthy Families for two years. From there, I have had a variety of experiences in community-based care, hospital-based care, and within the private practice setting. NOTE: I do not accept insurance for couple/family therapy. Couple and family therapy sessions will be charged my self-pay fee. Additionally, I exclusively provide teletherapy and you must be present in the state of Maryland during all appointments.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My work focuses on exploring any unwanted behaviors, habits, and harmful beliefs that you may hold about yourself, others, or the world. In addition, I like to explore your personal strengths and incorporate those into a healthier way of thinking and healthier coping strategies. Relationally, I will help you identify and change unhealthy patterns that you may be blind to, which will allow you to have healthier and more fulfilling relationships. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals. You are the expert of your own life and I am here to serve as a guide as you reach your highest potential and move toward healing.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During your first session, you can expect for me to ask more about what you brings you into therapy. I will explore any symptoms you may be experiencing, and any work stressors or relational issues that may be contributing to what brings you in. I will also explore your goals for treatment and share more information about my role in helping you to achieve those goals. Throughout treatment, we will dive deeper into the issues that you have addressed and I will provide insight into strategies to achieving the goals that you have set. This may be through challenging negative thought patterns and developing healthier thoughts, setting boundaries within relationships, or breaking negative relationship cycles. NOTE: I do not accept insurance for couple/family therapy. Couple and family therapy sessions will be charged my self-pay fee. Additionally, I exclusively provide teletherapy and you must be present in the state of Maryland during all appointments.
