Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Diana! I'm Diana Austin, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University. I specialize in addressing anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach focuses on identifying the underlying issues that may interfere with daily functioning and contribute to decreased motivation and happiness. I help clients identify triggers, challenge negative thoughts, and develop self-awareness with the goal of achieving a stronger sense of balance in life. Other areas I address include strengthening communication skills, building self-confidence, and fostering emotional connection with oneself and others. My approach I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Transformation, and Mindfulness Practices. My focus I work best with motivated adults ages 18-99 who are interested in uncovering core-rooted beliefs and willing to shift their perspectives to improve themselves and their overall lives. I focus on individuals, family system issues, couples and marital counseling, communication skill building, and stress related to external factors such as work-life balance, family-life balance, and social situations. My communication style As a therapist, I understand how difficult it can be to open up and share thoughts and feelings. I provide a relaxed yet professional atmosphere in my sessions. While I incorporate humor at times, I remain solution-focused. My goal is to guide you toward a better understanding of how you CAN shift your perspective and succeed in achieving the balance you desire. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I felt a strong connection and need to help others with their perspectives. Over my 23-year career, I have worked in many settings that have enhanced my knowledge and given me a well-rounded understanding of mental health, substance abuse, trauma, relationships, and communication skills.
