Getting to know Dr. Diana Urman
I view sexuality from the perspective of pleasure and quality of life, not from a dysfunction-based model. Holding a Master's in Clinical Social Work from San Francisco State University and a PhD from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, my professional and personal goal is to assist my clients in the process of self-healing and growth, helping them realize their full potential through expressing their sexuality. My work is incredibly rewarding, and I truly love being able to empower my clients.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Whether you want to increase your confidence, explore fantasies, or discover a new level of intimacy with your partner, I can help. My specialties include treating issues with erectile dysfunction, sexual trauma, loss of desire, relationships in couples, women, and men.
I have a PhD in Human Sexuality from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality, as well as a graduate degree (MSW) in Clinical Social Work. Additionally, I am a California State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #26883) and Certified Clinical Sexologist.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My typical process starts from a thorough assessment of of my clients needs and concerns to ensure the goals and objectives of therapy are clearly defined .
Throughout the course of therapy, there will be periodical reassessments performed to to track the progress of therapy and check if the goals and objectives remain the same or change over time.
