Hi there, I'm Diane! You're navigating some pretty tough challenges, feeling stuck or overwhelmed and you've "embraced the suck" long enough. You're feeling anxious, depressed, or just plain apathetic, maybe even isolating yourself. Maybe your challenges have included grief & loss, disappointment, divorce, or narcissistic abuse. Maybe you've turned to habits like alcohol misuse, compulsive use of pornography, or overeating in order to cope or numb your feelings. Maybe you struggle with healthy communication, setting boundaries, or need help with conflict resolution. I work with adults of all ages who face the challenges that are causing them distress and help unpack their pain, examine their thought processes, heal associated trauma, improve communication skills, and set healthy boundaries. My approach I offer a warm, compassionate, and empathetic approach to meet you where you are in your situation. I use cognitive-behavioral and rational-emotive therapy to help challenge thought processes that seem to be causing you difficulties and keeping you from being successful in relationships. I also use dialectical-behavioral therapy to help you learn how to regulate your emotions and increase communication skills. I use active listening and reflection so that you have a safe space to tell your story and process your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. My focus I treat adults of all ages and have worked a great deal with those suffering with anxiety, depression, difficulties adjusting to new or stressful situations, difficulties in relationships, additive behaviors such as alcohol misuse, eating disorders to include compulsive overeating and compulsive use of pornography/sexual addiction. I also have experience dealing with narcissistic abuse and the horrific aftermath of such relationships. I have worked with clients who struggle with unhealthy communication and poor boundaries. I have helped many people with conflict resolution issues.
