Getting to know Diego Waissbluth

Hello, and welcome. My name is Diego Waissbluth, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State. I began my professional journey studying Psychology at Universidad Diego Portales in Chile and later continued my training in Applied Psychology at New York University, where I was honored for providing outstanding clinical service. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals facing anxiety, addictive behaviors, personality-related challenges, grief, and relationship difficulties. I truly believe that every person has the capacity to heal and grow when they feel safe, understood, and supported. For me, therapy is not just about treating symptoms—it’s about creating a genuine human connection where you feel heard without judgment. My goal is to help you move forward from painful patterns, strengthen your emotional well-being, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and my priority is to help you feel comfortable from the very first session. I offer a warm, supportive, and respectful space where you can speak openly and honestly at your own pace. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each person. Together, we explore what brings you to therapy, what patterns may be holding you back, and what kind of life you want to build for yourself. I work with clients struggling with anxiety, addictions, grief, relationship challenges, and long-standing emotional patterns. Therapy with me is a process of self-discovery, healing, and growth. My role is to walk alongside you with care and professionalism as you develop greater clarity, emotional strength, and healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions are focused on getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to therapy. We talk about your current concerns, personal history, relationships, and what you hope to achieve. There is no pressure—everything moves at a pace that feels safe for you. Each session is a thoughtful conversation in a supportive, non-judgmental space. We explore emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and relationship patterns, always with the goal of helping you gain insight and develop healthier ways of coping. As therapy progresses, we regularly check in on how you are feeling about the process and make adjustments as needed. My goal is to support you in building lasting emotional stability, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of confidence and well-being.
