What should a new client know about working with you?

Dina’s approach to therapy is informed by Feminist and Queer Theories, which emphasize the context, barriers, and strengths that impact an individuals’ wellbeing. Dina operates from a Health at Every Size, anti-diet culture, and social justice oriented framework. Initial intake sessions consists of history gathering, in which Dina conducts a genogram (a detailed family tree) to establish a comprehensive understanding of the context in which a person grew up in and where they are today. Each therapeutic relationship is unique and imperative to the therapeutic work. Therefore, Dina welcomes clients to share about their interests, hobbies, career, pets, favorite media, and more!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Dina provides sessions via Telehealth as well as Walk and Talk Therapy sessions in Irvine, CA. In office sessions coming soon in Irvine, CA. Sessions are 50 minutes, with 80 minute sessions available upon request. Session frequency may vary depending on the needs of each person. Dina recommends weekly for the first month as you get started and then reassess pacing thereafter. Dina Bdaiwi is trained to assess and diagnose Autism and ADHD in adolescents and adults. She provides self assessments as well as diagnostic clinical interviews. Once completed, Dina reviews the responses to provide relevant and as needed education and resources. Dina is experienced in writing letters of support for work, school, and housing accommodations. *As relevant and in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Dina is trained in Brainspotting and EMDR, which she utilizes to facilitate trauma reprocessing and healing. While these approaches are available, it should be noted that these approaches may not always be the best fit for each person. With this in mind, Dina assesses for readiness and fit for each client interested in trauma processing. Should there be interest in EMDR, Dina will provide education, assessments, and grounding activities to best support each client as they review their options.

At Help Send Therapy, we offer sliding scale availability and determine rates through filling out a Sliding Scale Request form, available upon request. We conduct billing through Thrizer, platform for Out of Network billing to assist clients who have Out of Network Benefits, and Stripe for self-pay. We also provide monthly superbills upon request for clients to submit to their insurance. Help Send Therapy also accepts identity and need based mental health funds and stipends such as: CT Stream, NQTTCN Mental Health Fund, Lotus Therapy Fund, and Mental Health Liberation Therapy Fund. Clients who are interested in utilizing funds must apply to for funding directly on each organization’s website during open application cycles.
