Getting to know Dina Miller

*Please note: once a session is booked, you will receive two emails. One with forms to complete prior to the session and one with a link to Headway (the billing system I use). Both steps must be completed prior to the first session. Hello, and thank you for finding me. I am so glad that you have made the decision to do something positive for yourself. My name is Dina Miller, and I am a licensed clinical social worker in New Jersey with over 20 years of experience. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Yeshiva University. I have been fortunate enough to have had a varied clinical career involving work with clients of all ages. I have worked in hospitals and hospices, in private practice, and in public schools. I work with anyone who has been affected by depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, ADHD (not medication management), postpartum issues, parenting issues, or grief.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy is not easy, but I think of us as a team and I am your coach. I will be here to guide you and support you, to cheer you on and teach you, but you have to do the work. As long as you are willing to try I will be here for you and I will work as hard as you do to show you there are better days ahead. My counseling style is warm and supportive but honest and realistic. I tell my clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. I treat all of my clients with respect and compassion. I accept people for who they are and do not try to change them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Typical sessions are 50 to 60 minutes long and are talk therapy focused. I use many different approaches to therapy, and often homework assignments are part of the process.
