Getting to know Dina Richardson
Welcome, I'm so glad you found me! My name is Dina Richardson, LCSW, owner and practitioner of Arise Christian Counseling. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the beautiful state of Florida. It has been a dream of mine to help others, provide counseling and support, and create a safe place to express yourself-all while doing so on a foundation of Christian principles. That is what Arise Christian Counseling is all about.
After graduating from high school, I was not sure what I wanted to do with my life, but I always knew it had to be something I had a heart for-it couldn't just be “a job.” I attended Palm Beach Atlantic University and chose the major of Christian Social Ministry because the title sounded interesting. Little did I know that decision would put me on the path to finding my calling and dream job as a social worker. After obtaining my bachelor's degree, I went on to attend Florida Atlantic University (FAU) to pursue that calling. I graduated from FAU in 2010 with a Master's in Social Work degree.
Although my formal schooling was completed, I have never stopped learning and developing my skills. I went on to obtain my licensure, which requires a minimum of two years post-master's degree. As part of my licensure requirements, I attend regular trainings in my field to ensure I am up to date on the best approaches in therapy, so I can bring the best support to you.
Throughout my career as a social worker, I have worked in several arenas that have aided my growth. I have worked with children ages 0-5 doing play therapy, but the majority of my experience has been with adults and the elderly. For over five years, I worked in the hospice setting, bringing emotional support and counseling to those at the bedside of the patient as well as to each patient in my care.
