Getting to know Dominique Castro
Life can bring challenges that leave us feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about what comes next. While we all possess the capacity for growth and healing, there are times when we need support, guidance, and a compassionate space to process our experiences. Most importantly, we need someone who is willing to listen without judgment. My goal as a therapist is to cultivate a warm, safe, and authentic environment where you feel comfortable sharing your story and exploring the parts of yourself that may have been overlooked, misunderstood, or burdened by life’s experiences. I believe that every person deserves to feel heard, valued, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Hi, I’m Dominique, a Mental Health Counselor dedicated to creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable showing up as their authentic selves. I believe that therapy is most effective when it is built on a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, collaboration, and genuine connection. My approach is compassionate, relatable, and goal-oriented. I earned my Master of Science in Education in School Counseling from St. John’s University and my Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College. My training has allowed me to work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, and stress management.
I approach therapy as a collaborative process. Together, we will explore the experiences that have shaped you, identify the strengths you already possess, and develop tools that support your personal growth and emotional well-being. Whether we are processing the past, navigating the present, or working toward the future, I am committed to walking alongside you every step of the way. Seeking support is a courageous first step, and I would be honored to be part of the next chapter of your story as you move toward healing, growth, and the life you envision for yourself.

She is very professional and reliable had to change some appointments and she worked with me. She had a very polite manner and easy to talk too. I would recommend her for anyone’s school age child. My child loved going to her.
