Dominique has experience working in outpatient community health, long-term residential, and inpatient hospital settings. She works with adults and adolescents dealing with a variety of issues, including personality disorders, depression, trauma, relationship problems, grief, life adjustment, and spirituality/religion. Her work with individuals is rooted in a trauma-informed, contemporary psychodynamic perspective. Dominique holds a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Smith College, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Michigan, and is a PhD Candidate at the Institute for Clinical Social Work.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Dominique believes that each person is different, and so each treatment must creatively and dynamically adapt to and evolve with these differences. Therapy is a genuine meeting of the minds that requires individual adaptation to your particular circumstances, needs, identities, and desires. She views people’s struggles as learned adaptations to survive in an imperfect world, rather than personal weakness or sickness – as such, psychological symptoms hold meaning and are communicating something that can be understood.
