Dominique received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with a Concentration in Social Welfare from Winston-Salem State University and his Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University. He is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and has obtained full licensure with the State of North Carolina. Dominique's master-level internships provided him with experience in group settings, working with numerous clients who were either court-ordered or recommended by the Correctional Board to attend counseling upon release from the prison system. His postgraduate clinical experience includes providing enhanced services as an Intensive In-Home counselor, serving as a certified Family Center Treatment clinician, and working in a methadone clinic providing psychoeducation to best assist patients between visits. Dominique's full experience includes counseling adolescents, families, the sex offender population, clients in the correctional system, individuals with substance use disorders, and supervising staff who work with the mental health population in the community. Dominique approaches all counseling relationships with an open mind as he seeks to understand individual needs, use that information to generate goals for systemic change, and provide clients with skills to use after the counseling relationship has ended. He utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques, interventions, and coping skills and has been trained in Motivational Interviewing, ASAM, DLA-20, and working with collaterals in the community. In his spare time, Dominique enjoys watching and attending sports events and riding his motorcycle across the state of North Carolina.
