Don De Lapp, LCSW, LCADC, CCS

Psychotherapist
NJ
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LCADC), Substance Abuse Professional (DOT qualified SAP), Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) I am here to assist you in improving your quality of life. I began my life's work at 17 years old when I entered the U.S. Army to become a counselor, then known as a 91G Behavioral Science Specialist. During my 10+ years of enlistment, I assisted individuals with mental health and substance abuse issues. I also worked in research as a Human Factors Specialist, focusing on how humans behave physically and psychologically in relation to specific environments, products, or services. I left the service anticipating using my military experiences and my B.A. in Psychology to work in my field. I wanted to help others explore and manage their personal mental health and substance abuse challenges. However, as they say, "life got in the way." Through life's hardships, I learned many lessons in the "college of hard knocks." My break from counseling included working various jobs in light industrial, service, and property management sectors. These experiences deepened my understanding of the human condition. I was able to return to school and earn a Master's in Psychological Counseling and a Master's in Social Work from Monmouth University. I am now a Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LCADC) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My specialty is substance abuse, with a concentration on anxiety, depression, anger, and personal relationship issues. My client focus is adults. *** Flag image by Aaron Burden on June 26, 2022, at 1610 hours. *** Photo of the ocean by Ryan Stone on August 24, 2022, at 1735 hours. Both of these photos project the underlying essence of mindfulness-being present-one of the essential tools used in my sessions.
