I see clients navigating life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, and loss/grief. My approach I utilize cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and narrative approaches. I believe that creating a trusting therapeutic relationship is the most fundamental component of the growth process. My focus I work with adults 18 and over, including those moving through life transitions and adapting to change-single, married, divorced, straight, and LGBTQ individuals-as well as those coping with loss and trauma. My communication style I strive to create a trusting and accepting environment where clients can take risks to be themselves. I model authenticity so clients know they can be authentic with me as well. I prize the therapeutic relationship so clients can come to prize themselves. I am direct and will challenge clients to grow, but that growth happens only when trust is established. Resilience is the balance of comfort and challenge, which I work toward in the therapeutic relationship. My journey to mental healthcare I believe that when each of us uses the gifts we have been given, we live fuller lives and others benefit from what we offer. The relationships that have urged me to grow have been encouragement and inspiration to use my gifts and be there for others. Suffering, challenges, and struggle are part of the human experience, and if I can be present to help others navigate successfully through it, I am honored to do so.
