Getting to know Donna C Moss

Hi, I'm Donna! As a parent of two young adult daughters and a therapist of 30 years, guiding teens and young adults as they learn to navigate the world is my passion. Over the course of my career, I have worked in both corporate and non-profit settings in healthcare leadership roles, including National Director of Patient Services for the Leukemia Society of America, Health Educator for New York Association for New Americans, and Online Community Director for iVillage.com, Weightwatchers.com and Disney.com. In addition to my private practice, I am Clinical Supervisor at Solace House USA, a free suicide prevention service. The first appointment will be helpful in understanding the client's history, expertly assessing the level of crisis, and determining if the connection is comfortable.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Individual and group therapy: the first appointment will be helpful in understanding the client's history, expertly assessing the level of crisis, and determining if the connection is comfortable. I typically use many modalities to suit the patient's needs. My most trusted tools are CBT, human-centered , mind/body. trauma-informed and existential.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In my experience I have honed not only my listening skills but my ability to assess diagnostically. Some things rise to the level of crisis, for which I am expertly trained. Otherwise, I will take my time getting to know my clients and earn their trust. I will always work and collaborate with parents, families, and communities. If it does not feel like a fit, it will not work.
